Transcendental Meditation For Children and Adults With ADD

Recently I took a webinar on transcendental meditation. It’s a new technique being used in schools to help children with A.D.D. The concept is to have two, 10 minute, meditation sessions while in school. It has been proven that this easy technique gives children with A.D.D. the ability to focus better, retain what their learning, and relax. If you have a child with A.D.D. you know how difficult it is for them to focus, learn and relax. Especially in school. So a technique like this is a great tool. It has even allowed some children to stop taking medication.

This isn’t just a great tool for children. Adults can use this at work or at home. Take a look at www.TM.org to learn how TM may be able to help you improve your performance at work, school or even in your personal life.

ADD and Grains

I recently visited my Chiropractor, Nelson Gregory, and was reminded of a great resource I think everyone with ADD should be aware of. I have to be honest, I am not an expert on the topic of inflammitory foods and how they affect us. I do know, however, the importance of watching your diet, especially if you have ADD. Your diet can greatly change your ability to focus and reduce hyperactivity. According to the guideline attached inflammation causes many problems several of us may take for granted and is the cause of most diseases. If you have Attention Deficit Disorder you may want to seriously consider reading the attached guidelines and bringing it to your doctor. You may find you can avoid medication all together.

Changing your diet to remove anti-inflammatory foods is drastic and appears to me to be close to a gluten-free diet. I also noticed that dark chocolate fights inflammation. Which is the only reason I have actually given this diet serious consideration.

Take a look for yourself.
